What sticks out for me in this book is that they discuss specific actions to take in order to improve the teams you are working with. Many books on teams talk about the characteristics of great teams, but this book compares two examples and identifies the differences. Then outlines actionable steps that can be taken to improve how a team works together. This differs from Amy Edmondson’s work Teaming because it is about long-lived teams (think groups of folks who are expected to work together for months or years) vs Amy’s book which focuses on short-lived teams (think emergency rescue mission, critical business failure, etc. where the team will disband when the situation is resolved).
