Clive Staples Lewis, commonly known as C.S. Lewis, was a British literary scholar and novelist. He was a fellow of Magdalen College at Oxford University. A former atheist, Lewis converted to Christianity in adulthood and went on to defend and explain the faith through accessible, reasoned prose. He taught at Oxford and Cambridge, and authored numerous influential books on theology, literature, and fantasy.
